Bangladesh Passport Photo Requirements
The official Bangladesh passport photo size is 35mm wide by 45mm tall with a plain white background. The Bangladesh Department of Immigration and Passports requires recent colour photographs where the face occupies 70 to 80 percent of the frame. Your head must be centred with eyes positioned at approximately 60 percent from the bottom of the photo. Both ears should be visible, and no glasses, hats, or head coverings are allowed unless for religious reasons. The photo must be printed on glossy or matte photo paper at 300 DPI resolution for sharp detail. Our tool generates photos at exactly these specifications so you can print at any local studio or home printer and submit with confidence.
Passport Photo Sizes by Country
Different countries require different passport photo dimensions. The most common standard worldwide is 35mm by 45mm, used by Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, the European Union (Schengen), India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Nepal, Pakistan, and the Philippines. The United States uses a 2 by 2 inch (51mm by 51mm) square format. Canada and Brazil require larger photos at 50mm by 70mm. Saudi Arabia uses 40mm by 60mm, the UAE requires 43mm by 55mm, and Malaysia uses 35mm by 50mm with a distinctive blue background. China requires 33mm by 48mm, and Indonesia uses 30mm by 40mm with a red background. Our tool supports all 22 of these country specifications with the correct dimensions and recommended background colour pre-selected when you choose your country.
How to Take a Good Passport Photo at Home
Taking a passport-quality photo at home is straightforward with the right setup. Stand in front of a plain white wall or hang a white bedsheet behind you. Use natural daylight from a window facing you for even illumination without harsh shadows. Position your phone or camera at eye level on a stack of books or a tripod. Keep a neutral expression with your mouth closed and both eyes fully open. Remove eyeglasses, hats, and earphones. Ask someone to take the photo from about one metre away, or use a self-timer. Make sure there are no shadows on your face or background. After uploading to our tool, use the face positioning guide to align your head within the oval, adjust zoom to fill the correct percentage of the frame, and set the background colour. Download the print sheet option to get multiple copies on a single 4 by 6 inch sheet, saving money at the print shop.
Common Passport Photo Mistakes to Avoid
Passport offices reject photos for avoidable reasons. Uneven lighting that creates shadows on one side of the face is the most common issue. Backgrounds with patterns, colours other than white, or visible furniture cause rejections. Photos where the face is too small or too large within the frame fail the size requirements. Selfies with one arm visible or taken too close create distortion. Wearing glasses, even clear ones, leads to rejection in most countries since 2020. Red eye from flash photography, blurry images from camera shake, and photos older than six months are all grounds for rejection. Use our crop guide and zoom controls to ensure your face fills exactly the right proportion of the frame for your chosen country.
