পহেলা বৈশাখ ২০২৬ কবে?

পহেলা বৈশাখ হলো বাংলা নববর্ষের প্রথম দিন। ২০২৬ সালে বাংলাদেশে পহেলা বৈশাখ পালিত হবে ১৪ এপ্রিল (মঙ্গলবার) এবং ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গে ১৫ এপ্রিল (বুধবার)। এটি বাংলা সন ১৪৩৩-এর শুরু। বাংলাদেশে এটি সরকারি ছুটির দিন এবং সবচেয়ে বড় সাংস্কৃতিক উৎসব। Pohela Boishakh 2026 falls on April 14 in Bangladesh and April 15 in West Bengal, India. How Pohela Boishakh Is Celebrated

Pohela Boishakh celebrations include the UNESCO-recognized Mangal Shobhajatra procession at Dhaka University, traditional panta bhat (fermented rice) with hilsa fish for breakfast, wearing white and red clothes, drawing alpana floor art, and opening Haal Khata — new business ledgers. In West Bengal, people celebrate as Poila Baisakh with family gatherings, temple visits, and cultural programs. The festival symbolizes new beginnings, hope, and Bengali cultural identity shared by over 300 million Bengali speakers worldwide.

বাংলা নববর্ষের ইতিহাস

বাংলা সনের প্রবর্তক মুঘল সম্রাট আকবর, যিনি ১৫৫৬ সালে কৃষি খাজনা আদায়ের সুবিধার্থে এই ক্যালেন্ডার চালু করেন। হিজরি চন্দ্র সন ও বাংলা সৌর সনের সমন্বয়ে তৈরি হয় বাংলা সন। ১৯৬৬ সালে ড. মুহম্মদ শহীদুল্লাহ কমিটি বাংলা ক্যালেন্ডার সংস্কার করে। বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশ ও পশ্চিমবঙ্গে ভিন্ন গণনা পদ্ধতি ব্যবহৃত হওয়ায় তারিখে ১ দিনের পার্থক্য দেখা যায়। The Bengali calendar was introduced by Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1556 for agricultural tax collection.

Mangal Shobhajatra — UNESCO Heritage

The Mangal Shobhajatra procession on Pohela Boishakh was inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016. Organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Dhaka since 1989, this colorful procession features giant papier-mache figures, masks, and floats representing Bengali culture, nature, and the fight against evil. Thousands participate in this celebration of hope, courage, and unity — making it one of the largest cultural gatherings in the world.
