FPL Points Calculator 2025/26
Work out exactly how many Fantasy Premier League points a player scored. Pick a position, enter their match stats — goals, assists, clean sheet, cards, saves, bonus and the new defensive contributions — and get the precise FPL score using the official 2025/26 scoring rules.
How FPL Points Are Calculated
Fantasy Premier League awards points for what a player does in a real match. This calculator applies the official 2025/26 FPL scoring rules — including the brand-new defensive contributions introduced this season — so you can check exactly what any player scored, or work out how many points a transfer target is likely to bank. Pick the player's position first, because goals, clean sheets and defensive contributions are all scored differently by position.
The 2025/26 FPL Scoring Table
- Playing time: 1 point for up to 60 minutes, 2 points for 60 minutes or more.
- Goals: Goalkeeper 6, Defender 6, Midfielder 5, Forward 4.
- Assists: 3 points each, any position.
- Clean sheets (60+ minutes): Goalkeeper 4, Defender 4, Midfielder 1, Forward 0.
- Saves: 1 point for every 3 shots saved (goalkeepers).
- Penalty save: 5 points. Penalty miss: -2 points.
- Goals conceded: -1 point for every 2 conceded (goalkeepers and defenders).
- Cards: Yellow -1, Red -3 (a red also stops further positive minute points).
- Own goal: -2 points.
- Bonus: 1 to 3 points to the best performers in each match, decided by the Bonus Points System.
New for 2025/26: Defensive Contributions
The biggest change this season rewards defensive work. A defender who racks up a combined 10 or more clearances, blocks, interceptions and tackles (CBIT) in a single match scores 2 points. Midfielders and forwards also count ball recoveries, and need 12 or more defensive contributions (CBIRT) to earn the same 2 points. The reward is capped at 2 points per match — even 20 tackles still only scores 2 (though it can boost bonus points). This calculator applies the correct threshold automatically based on the position you pick.
Why Use an FPL Points Calculator?
Managers use it to double-check a returning captain's haul, to settle a mini-league debate, or to model "what if" scenarios before making a transfer — for example, whether a defensive midfielder who racks up tackles is worth more than a flair player who only occasionally returns. Because the new defensive-contribution rule changes the value of certain players dramatically, running the numbers helps you spot the unglamorous points-magnets that the market undervalues. Pair this with our Premier League table predictor to plan your season, and the football salary calculator to see what your FPL picks earn in real life.
