What Is the GST Voucher Scheme

The GST Voucher (GSTV) is a permanent Singapore Government scheme launched in 2012 to help lower- and middle-income Singaporeans offset their Goods and Services Tax expenses. It is funded by the GST Voucher Fund and disbursed annually in four components — Cash, MediSave, U-Save and Service & Conservancy Charges (S&CC) rebates — based on citizenship, age, assessable income from your IRAS Notice of Assessment, and the Annual Value of your home.

For 2026, eligible Singapore Citizens can receive up to S$850 in GSTV-Cash, S$150 to S$450 in MediSave top-ups, U-Save rebates credited quarterly to the utilities bill, and S&CC rebates applied directly to HDB conservancy charges. Only Singapore Citizens qualify — Permanent Residents and foreigners are not eligible for any GSTV component.

Cash vs MediSave vs U-Save vs S&CC

GSTV-Cash pays up to S$850 if your Annual Value is S$21,000 or below, or S$450 if the AV is between S$21,001 and S$25,000. Assessable income must not exceed S$34,000 and you must be aged 21 or above. GSTV-MediSave is credited to your CPF MediSave Account and ranges from S$150 (ages 65-74) to S$450 (ages 85+), regardless of the cash-tier threshold so long as AV is within limits.

GSTV-U-Save is a utility rebate paid quarterly (January, April, July, October) only to HDB households, ranging from about S$220 to S$760 annually depending on flat size. GSTV-S&CC rebates cover 1.5 to 3.5 months of S&CC charges each year, again only for HDB households. Private-property owners are not eligible for U-Save or S&CC.

2026 Payout Schedule

GSTV-Cash is typically disbursed in early August 2026 via PayNow-NRIC, bank credit or GovCash. GSTV-MediSave is credited to MediSave in the same August window. GSTV-U-Save is credited to the household utilities account in four tranches — January, April, July and October 2026. GSTV-S&CC is applied to conservancy bills in January, April, July and October. If you missed previous years, the Assurance Package top-ups may also be bundled with your payout depending on Budget 2026 announcements.
