How Combined SSC and HSC GPA Is Calculated
In Bangladesh, combined GPA is usually calculated by adding your official SSC GPA and HSC GPA. Because each exam result is out of 5.00, the combined result is out of 10.00. This is the figure many students use when checking eligibility for college admission, university forms, scholarships, and competitive programs.
Formula
Combined GPA = SSC GPA + HSC GPA
Average GPA = (SSC GPA + HSC GPA) / 2
Why Combined GPA Matters
Many admission systems in Bangladesh first check the combined SSC and HSC GPA before looking at subject-based requirements. This means a student with a strong total GPA can clear the initial eligibility filter more easily. However, combined GPA alone is not always enough, because some units also require minimum GPA in each exam or specific grades in subjects like Higher Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or English.
How to Use This Result
Use the calculator to compare your result against a target combined GPA. If you are already above the target, you can move on to subject-based requirements and admission preparation. If you are below the target, the shortfall shows exactly how far you are from your goal. This is useful when reviewing current admission circulars, private university forms, or scholarship eligibility notes.
Example
If your SSC GPA is 4.80 and your HSC GPA is 4.50, your combined GPA is 9.30. Your average GPA is 4.65. If your target combined GPA is 8.00, you are 1.30 points above that target.
Important Note
This calculator helps you check the arithmetic quickly, but every institution can set its own subject requirements, unit conditions, and current admission rules. Always verify the latest admission circular of the college or university you are applying to.
