Florida Minimum Wage 2026: $15.00/hr Calculator
Calculate weekly, monthly, and annual gross pay at Florida's 2026 minimum wage. Includes tipped worker earnings.
How Florida Minimum Wage Compares to the Federal Rate
Florida's 2026 minimum wage of $15.00 per hour is $7.75 above the $7.25 federal minimum. The federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour has not changed since 2009, meaning workers in states like Florida rely on state law for meaningful wage floors.
At $15.00/hr working full-time (40 hours/week, 52 weeks/year), a Florida worker earns $31,200.00 gross annually. That equals $600.00 per week and roughly $2,600.00 per month.
These figures are gross (before taxes). Your take-home pay will be lower after federal income tax, Social Security (6.2%), and Medicare (1.45%) deductions. Use our Florida Income Tax Calculator for a net-pay estimate.

Tipped Workers in Florida
The tipped minimum wage in Florida is $11.98 per hour in 2026. Employers may pay tipped employees as little as $11.98/hr, but total compensation including tips must reach $15.00/hr. If tips fall short, the employer must make up the difference.
Tipped workers covered by Florida law include restaurant servers, bartenders, valets, and other service workers who regularly receive tips. Always check your pay stub to ensure your employer is meeting the full minimum wage requirement.
Note: Florida keeps a fixed $3.02 tip credit, so the tipped cash wage rose from $10.98 to $11.98 on September 30, 2026, in step with the full minimum.
Does Any Florida City Have a Higher Minimum Wage?
No. Florida preempts local wage-setting, so unlike California or Washington there is no county or city rate above the state floor — a worker in Miami-Dade and a worker in the Panhandle are entitled to the same hourly minimum. What does vary is the exemption. The state floor tracks federal coverage rules, so genuinely exempt roles (bona fide executive, administrative and professional employees, certain outside sales staff) are not owed it at all, and misclassification is the most common way an underpaid Florida worker is quietly denied the rate. Check your classification against the U.S. Department of Labor's tests at dol.gov Wage and Hour Division before assuming a low hourly rate is legal.
Florida Wage Increase Schedule
Florida's minimum wage has been $15.00/hr since September 30, 2026, up from $14.00 — the final $1.00 step written into the 2020 constitutional amendment. From here the rate is indexed to inflation rather than set by a fixed schedule: the state calculates an adjusted rate each September 30 starting in 2027, and each adjusted rate takes effect the following January 1.
Employers must post the current Florida minimum wage notice at their place of business. Violations can result in back-pay orders and civil penalties. Workers who believe they are being underpaid can file a complaint with the Florida Department of Labor or the U.S. Department of Labor.
